Indigenous Knowledge and Decolonization of Healing with Claudia Cuentas
How do we learn to notice our bodies?
Are our bodies talking to us at all times? How do we make space to hear their intelligence? What about if feeling “uncomfortable” is the most common way our bodies have to let us know what we are perceiving? What about if body discomfort is not just related to us, but also our lineage and ancestors? In a playful and experiential way, join us to deepen our relationship to our bodies, increase safely our tolerance to discomfort, and decode our innate body wisdom.
This workshop is an invitation to move, sound, draw and write poetry from the body. We will explore personal themes present in relationship to our body parts and bodies as a whole. We will also have an opportunity to share in small groups and bigger community. No previous experience is necessary, just an openness to normalize discomfort and a desire to embrace our bodies wisdom.
Please bring a note book, something to write with, a couple of newsprint pages and a box of cray pas or oil pastels. Also wear comfortable clothes and bring some water.
