Ancestral Dance and Movement with Joy-Marie Thompson
We will approach this virtual space as a container to honor and pay homage to those who came before us by dancing. I will guide you through improvisational task based movement to facilitate this, so bring yourself, comfy clothes, enough space to lay down in an X, and maybe (if you want) paper and something to write with to take notes and an open mind. My job will be to direct you, your movement will come from within you- not me!
Maybe at the end, we will find ourselves creating a dance to represent those who have loved us, are no longer with us, and/or represent the threads of our DNA through the physicality of our bodies.
