weaving ecologies of care

a free online 3-Day public event April 11th-13th, 2025 | A Free Virtual Gathering

the rooted global village

What happens when care is not something we outsource but something we weave into the fabric of our daily lives, relationships, and communities?

We are living in a time when trust has become fragile—not just in institutions, but between us. While many of us long for connection, belonging, and relationship, we may also distrust it. We may struggle with intimacy, with the vulnerability required to build trust, and with the inevitable tensions and discomforts that come with deepening into relationship, on the way to community.

At the same time, trust in governance, social systems, and authority structures is at an all-time low. Many of the institutions that have proclaimed to provide our collective care have been built upon deep inequities, or they have eroded or failed us, leaving behind a stark realization:

If we can not rely on systems to hold us, and if, indeed, those very systems are themselves ill, how do we re/member how hold each other?

We might ask:

Join Us & Honored Guests for a Free 3-Day festival exploring what it will take weave trust, care, and interdependence.

This gathering is an invitation to explore these questions together.

What new + reclaimed ways of being together can emerge from this awakening?

How do we cultivate trust, even in the face of doubt and disconnection?

How do we create the conditions for real care—not as an abstract ideal, but as a lived, relational practice?

Weaving Care Ecologies is interested in care in action. This 3-day gathering brings together thinkers, facilitators, feelers and practitioners who are exploring the deep relational work and alternative practices and systems invested in the regeneration of trust, intimacy, and mutual support.

The focus is not just on ideas but on practices—ways of being together that seed resilience, reciprocity, and connection.

Why This Gathering? And Why Now...

We will explore:

The practices of care that can sustain us beyond our dependence on institutions

The role of play, creativity & risk in forging new ways of being together

Trust, intimacy & interdependence as radical acts in times of alienation

Making with what we have – reclaiming traditions of care in the face of modern disconnection

Independent from government funding or institutional oversight, this event is rooted in the belief that care does not belong in the hands of institutions, especially established on inequity—it belongs to us. When we commit to practicing it, we become the architects of the care ecologies we long for.

“To become what we need to each other, and to find power in friendship, is to become dangerous.”

You can expect conversations, practices, and explorations that don’t just talk about care but embody it. This is not a passive event—it’s an immersive space where we engage with care as a living, breathing practice.

This represents a tiny splash in the ocean of care ecologies, care-centered communities, practices and study. We're offering a kaleidoscope of voices speaking to the art and labor of trust-building, interdependence, and world-making through:

What can i expect?

Sessions on the lived impact of culture, the breakdown of institutional trust, and what it takes to regenerate care

Music, movement & embodied practice—because care is not just an idea, it’s something we feel, create and move together

Creativity, play & relational risk-taking—because courage and imagination are essential to how we're going to do this

Collective conversations & integration spaces—so that ideas don’t just live in our heads, but in our relationships

Weaving Ecologies of Care is hosted by Rooted Global Village, a learning collective dedicated to embodied liberation, relational healing, and culture-making. We create spaces of deep inquiry and practice—where care is not just an idea but a living practice. Rooted is a home for those who seek to reimagine belonging, rebuild trust, and cultivate interdependence in a world shaped by disconnection. Through study, movement, creativity, and collective exploration, we invite participants to step into the work of weaving new ways of being together.
