Hospicing Modernity with Vanessa Andreotti, (PhD)

Teacher(s):
Vanessa Andreotti

During our time together we will have a conversation about the stories we tell (about ourselves and the world), what we want them to do, what they show, what they hide, where they come from, where they lead us to, and how they enable and/or constrain possibilities for different worlds and forms of (co)existence.

We will also talk about the possibilities for opening our imaginaries for other possible ways to tell stories, other beginnings, endings, framings, other ways of knowing, being, relating, walking, and breathing together, in non-coercive ways.

We will consider strategies that can help us "host" ourselves, each other and conflict itself with courage, humility, maturity and discernment.

We will also reflect together on a set of questions related to how we can navigate the complexities, inequalities, uncertainties and paradoxes of social change and on how we can engage ethically and reflexively with different systems of knowledge and world-views, with uneven relations of power, and with the limits of the paradigms we operate from.
