Earthbody: Attuning to Our Earthen Nature [Villager Offering]

Teacher(s):
Sara El-Sayeh

What does the earth have to say to you?

What threads of the earth’s story are you holding?

What is it the earth is asking of you?

Are we made of dust or are we made of stars? My 6 year old has taken it upon himself to teach his 8 month old sister everything there is to know about being on earth. One day, he explained to her that we live inside the mouth of the earth, and everything on the surface of the earth is in its mouth. He continued to explain that the earth is but a tooth in the galaxy, but that's a story for another time.

But imagine that we, and our earthy kin, are like the gut bacteria in our stomachs - how well are we taking care of our home? If we take this one step further and consider that our body is the earth and the earth is our body - what will change?

Join me for a 60 minute exploration of feeling the earth as our body and our body as the earth. We'll be listening for messages, connecting to kin, following threads of a new and ancient weave connecting us to the earth.

Our ancestors are those of blood, spirit and land. Our support team is huge and they're waiting for us to reach out. We came here to experience this earth and while the mind is a gift, it could also be a distraction. This guided meditation/visualization is an invitation to deepen into our nature as earthen.

What to Bring:

If accessible, please bring an unglazed clay/terracotta container.

My ancestors used clay pots called olla to purify and cool their water, ollas continue to exist but have become more ornamental than functional, I'm sure that nourished them differently than mineral water in plastic bottles.
